Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

yeah, the midi out is used for communication with the editor. although you can edit sounds without midi-out connected. but if you want to "batch save" all 99 presets for example (from pc to fi) you need midi-out to tell the pc when to send the next preset. but to save a single preset to a specific slot you don't need midi-out connected.

I have been saving the $300 and a space on my pedal board for a POG 2 to mix with Manta, OFD or BMWD to make my own synth sounds. This Future Impact sounds great, I don’t know if I can do those sounds with the POG 2 combo, but if I go FI I can’t do the plain old octave up and down stuff.
Argh, decisions, decisions.

I listened to the demo last night; highly impressed!

I'm a synth player, and I have a MIDI-enabled vintage analog synth which covers those '70s synth bass tones well enough. The Future Impact could be just what I need to cover the '80s bass sounds I like without having to buy an '80s synth keyboard. And with the added effects and other features...I might have to preorder one of these bad boys as soon as preordering is available.

I think a lot of keyboardists would be interested in this. I'll keep it to myself, though. I want TalkBass to have first dibs!

All this "Deep Impact is obsolete" talk---yes, that appears to be true. Whether the market tanks---that remains to be seen. People have stupid ideas about mojo and whatnot. Rationally it should. Practically, maybe.

Better sell those used Deep Impacts while there's still a market for them. :)

If you have a Deep Impact just to try and sell it for profit...you're doing it wrong.

Deep Impact officially obsolete

Anyone remember what digitech bass whammy's were selling for 3 years ago......do a search on ebay now and looks like they won't sell the original for more than $200 it seems....

Doesn't bother me if the DI tanks. I won't be selling it either way. From what I'm seeing and hearing Andras has the solution for anyone in the long term if they really want one. I know I do. I've used my DI for years and then pulled it out of rotation when I was using it less and there is no replacement under $300. I've used it more in my home studio for tracking lately so the FI would be something I'd use for both gigs and tracking without fear of some drunk sorostitute spilling her Natty Light on it and not being able to replace it.
