I agree with TheMutt. it would be a good idea if you record sound samples of those fuzz pedals. it would give everyone on talkbass and idea on how they sound on bass. that what I did with the multi-effects processors I've owned. I've record sounds samples of those multi-effects processors and I've post them on my soundclick website. I've made a thread about my sound samples. anywho, if you can record sound samples of those fuzz pedals, that would be great.

That's what I was thinking! I only found a few Sun Face samples when I searched for them, and only grygrx's for the ASSMASTER, and the SC and Musket had sparse clips (but they're Muffs, you know how they sound!).
Or I could just full-on YouTube them :)

Finally, my shotty playing shall be revealed

To my ears, the SC retains more low end than the v1 Musket. It is also easier to dial in a good sound on the SC as the Musket's controls are far more interactive regarding the eq slopes. The Musket is more flexible, but moreso than I needed.

The Musket v1 seems to stack better with other dirt pedals - it kills after an Octron!

I assumed that I could always get another Musket should I need one as they are more available, so I haven't lamented letting it go.

I've found that the chain OC-2>SC>442 Red is perfect for my needs/tone goals at the moment.

What bass are you planning on using? I find that my Supercollider sounds great with my P-Bass but rubbish with my T-40 & BB415. On the other hand the Musket behaves in a similar way with them all, probably because the pre-gain stage always presents the same impedance to the front end of the fuzz.

I typically keep my amp EQs relatively flat, with a decent boost on the bass only, and do all my dialing-in onboard or with pedals.

..I got IMG-happy..

The built-on clean blend is a nice addition, and it does sound nice, but because of the Musket's and Super Collider's lower prices, almost 25-35$ less, and greater versatility, I don't think the Pickle Pie B "clearly beats everything else."

If someone wants to lend me a Pickle Pie B for demonstration purposes only, I'd be glad to include it. However I've never really been a fan of a clean-blended Muffsound. And I don't see them much...
That's the real reason it's not included in here; the availability factor. All of the ones to be tested, I've had a relatively simple time acquiring used, but the PPB's are even rarer than Supercolliders, especially being relatively new. And I'm weird about buying new things. Only thing I've bought new (besides strings, cables, and my first bass) was my Bi-Chorus (still worth it).
Again, if anyone'd like to lend me one (or another fuzz for the sake of the thread), let me know. I've immaculate feedback for a good reason ;)

In the Pickle Pie B's defense:

a) the blend knob doesn't have to be used

b) they've currently got a much shorter backorder time than purchasing a new Supercollider

By posting this early, I added a Musket to the line-up, and now (hopefully) a Pickle Pie B (from Mr Gress on loan), now all available for direct comparison. Getting thoughts on this before actually doing it I think will help the overall "shootout."

Plus I was too excited to keep the idea to myself :D

AND getting people subscribed is neat
