Fuzz Shootout - Making My Bass Go ROAR!!

Turns out I was swindled. I was told I was buying a double germanium, and in fact it is only a single germanium. [sarcasm]Awesome.[/sarcasm]
See, I mistrust people. But also believe most are stupid. So either is fair game.

Well it does say DOUBLE GERMANIUM (twice) so I'd say you got swindled!
(EDIT: I guess the previous owner could have been mislead / confused though too...)
I have the regular germanium and must be about the only person around that doesn't think much of it... The teeth that came with it are cool though.

I don't know either the price difference between germ and double germ or the chances that the seller looked on ebay and didn't see anything other than double germ B:Assmasters, and not knowing what they had, assumed that was it. But yeah, it doesn't look good from where I sit.
I wouldn't advertise something like that if I didn't know it myself.
The seller obviously knew "double germanium" is a buzz phrase and it'd help it sell. I asked him about it, but if nothing tomorrow I'm filing a case.

Though, Grygrx had a single germ modded with the extended frequencies of the double germ and he said he loved it, me thinks.

Question - any reason for not adding the ElectroniX/Zeibek fuzzes? I've been thinking about a Messdrive but all the fuss over the Musket has me wondering again...
I got a Way Huge Electronics Swollen Pickle yesterday and I am quite amazed by the quality of the tone and the range of this pedal. I have an MXR El Grande Fuzz and a EH Bass Muff and I might do a 3 way shoot out this week end.
Nevertheless, the Swollen Pickle is impressive. I had tried it before the pedal I tried sounded radically different than this one. I have to play with the internal controls to see if they are responsible for the disparity.
I also have a Way Huge Electronics Pork Loin, which I adore and want to try the Pork Loin into the Swollen Pickle that might yield some interesting sonic results.

I just bought a brand new SC and I think I had it ~ 3 weeks from the time I ordered it. It's got a black casing rather than the cool green but it still sounds just as sweet!
I had a bit of a play-through earlier today, I already have a preference that I think might take it all. The 2nd place so far (just from noodling) is a very similar pedal

Still waiting on the Pickle Pie B to show up, and the B:Assmaster is being returned, as it was not as advertised. However..
I took the Musket, SC, and Sun Face to band practice for my heavier band. The Musket is indeed very mid-heavy if you want it to be, but so much that in my opinion, that it sounds a little more compressed than my SC. The SC is more open, and I like that better. I also like the lower gain settings on the SC. I just feel like it covers a broader range. For the Muffs, I'm gonna be brave and I'm sure I'm gonna hear ALL about it, but I am concluding, for my playing and uses and tastes,

Now as for this Sun Face..
It's true what they say, it's not just a plug in and get great tones sort of pedal. It almost feels like it literally has to warm up a bit or something, but when it does..WOW! It doesn't have the bassiness of the SC, nor really the tweakability (it's really more interactive with how you have your tone set up without it), but it's SUCH a juicy drive. It sounds a bit more organic with the battery in it, but this one doesn't have the on/off Fuzz Pot, and I found I really like it AFTER my Supercollider at times (and oddly, I like it better with my preamp turned ON on my L2000), so I've been using the battery clip plug instead (though, I just found a battery clip adapter for a 1spot in my stuff, I think I might have a little notch cut in the baseplate so that I can plug that in this adapter, instead of installing an actual jack). So for the moment, I'm keeping the SC and Sun Face. Debating having Mr. Piera modding it for the old spec, which he says has more low end, but it's $40 plus s/h (ew).
Clips sometime this week (my dad's going on vacation, so I can get some higher volume samples). Hopefully the Pickle Pie B will be here soon, so I can run a more direct comparison with the rest of the pedals. After clips, I'll have a Musket v1 for sale (cough cough hint hint). I'm not saying it's a bad pedal, some people swear by it (Valerus is the most blatant example I can think of) and I can definitely see a lot of people loving it. I just prefer my Supercollider
