I don't think it does, there is plenty of low end there. The Pickle Pie B has a great clean blend, but I've found it to be unnecessary thusfar as well. I'm really digging both of them. Overall I like the Sun Face better because it has a nastier tone, but it is a harder pedal to live with because it is pretty sensitive to your dynamics, playing skill, other equipment, and even ambient temperature. Much like a fine single malt, I actually enjoy these aspects, but I completely understand why the Analog.man site warns people that this fuzz is not for everybody. When you screw up, the Sun Face lets you know. Neat. The Pickle Pie B is much smoother sounding, but also quite versatile what with Shape knob and clean blend. Since there are no buffer issues with that one, it is much easier to live with. Sounds ace with a loud signal shoved into it.The Sun Face doesn't need a clean blend?
Anyhow, the correct answer is the first choice in poll. I'm surprised that both Sun Face aficionados got this one wrong.![]()
I have not yet. I have a whole pile of batteries though, since I nearly always use power supplies every time I get a new pedal I add a battery to the collection, so I'm sure that kind of experimenting is just around the corner.Hey nad, have you checked the difference between using alkaline and non-alkaline battery?
As shown in the picture: fuzz all the way up, volume around 2 o'clock, sun dial at normal. The Sun Face gets raspier past around 3 o'clock on the fuzz setting, sounds smoother below that. I usually have the fuzz most of the way up, and the sun dial slightly clockwise from center. I haven't used it in a full band mix yet, but I did record with it a few days ago and it came through with a nice, warm, universe-destroying tone.I am too
what were the settings for the pedal? I'm used to having mine at noon for both volume and fuzz and having the sundial set at the normal setting (where the manual indicates as normal).
