Fuzz Wah for bass.Is there such a thing?

hi...Bit of a noob question as I;m not into effects pedals as such and dont really know a whole lot about them.

However, I'm looking for a fuzz/wah pedal thats suitable for bass. I've seen the Dunlop and other brand fuzz wahs for guitars and I guess some of those would be ok with a bass, but is there any really good decicated fuzz wah pedals just for bass...

I like the roland jet phaser which is obviously phase and fuzz mixed together but man are they ridiculously expensive now...

any input would be appreciated....

Snarling Dog are always iffy pedal, they appear to be built like tanks but something always breaks.

I've had the Fender Fuzz Wah, that's pretty cool with the sorta 3d treadle but the wah is very guitar voiced on it's own and the fuzz isn't all that controllable.

Those old Morley Power Wah's are pretty popular (mainly with the Cliff Burton fans)

My favourite wah is the Kimbara wah or Shin Ei Wah, works great on bass but more in a traditional wah sense than a footcontrollable filter like the Dunlop 105q is. The Shin Ei fuzz also works on bass, it's an acquired taste (Check out some of the Radiohead tracks for this fuzz on bass) and Shin Ei and Kimbara made a Fuzz Wah pedal (very popular amongst guitarists) so you could try and track one down, though they can be pricey.

Foxx made a fuzz, wah volume again the fuzz is going to be an acquired taste and the pedal is very hard to find.

Personally I'm contemplating buying another Fender Fuzz Wah gutting it and getting someone to clone my Kimbara wah and add a custom Fuzz face inside it, that would give you the best of functionality and sound (or my sound)

Morley Power Wah Fuzz Boost Volume was what I used in the '70s, but it was not designed for bass. WHich means that the bottom fell out when you went to fuzz. However, the boost part allowed you to compensate that. You might try a combo of some of the current wah pedals like the EBS WahOne and the Wren & Cuff Pickle Pie B. Any decnet bass fuzz should have a feature allow you to mix the amount of fuzz and straight signal, or split the signal so that you keep the straight bass sound pumping to avoid losing the low end

This is interesting to me, as well. Do any of them allow you to use the Wah or the Fuzz independently of the other? So many pedals that do more than 1 thing at the same time don't allow you to do each individually, much like so many of them don't have a blend knob. These pedals for bass should ALL have blend knobs or a wet & dry knob, each. Retaining low end is our number one concern, and a blend knob is the answer!

I have the bootzilla, It sounds great but there are some reliability issues. One of the LED lights died weeks after getting it but the pedal still remains fully functional. I think I have owned it for about 5 years.

The controls may be in slightly awkward positions but it is a wah pedal and there not really any other feasible way to arrange all the levels and switches.

If you can find it for a good price buy it.
