cUbanna - lulz. i got a splinter in my junk one time. was freaking HORRIFIC.

MUddAH - heh. i remember seeing their shirts. good times. and that box? DESTROYED. i'm an impatient dood when i gets packages (giggety) in my hands (giggety squared).

layday at my post i go to all the time told me that they're gonna take better care of the Priority boxes bettah. which, kinda ****es me off, 'cause they should be careful with EVERYTHING they ship.... but i follow hints and suggestions.

Do I want a Dark Driving or an Oh See Demon?

I have a Rat Tail so the DD is more intriguing to me, but I love fuzz and I love Ryan. The OSD is also a completely different animal...

I play a lot of grind/crust/powerviolence and some stoner/doom. I don't know what I want. I just want more.

Get them both.

If you want more in your face, feel it in the chest crunch, I'd say go OSD. I have a DD and it's one of the more tamer pedals Ry has put out. Still a sweet pedal, but definitely not a heavy hitter on it's own. When the DD is combined with another dirt, it really beefs the other dirt up, but on it's own it just a nice, heavy overdrive type of dirt.

hurm. 'parently...... i'm a special kind of stoooopid. the Rat Nub Rygar sent me? NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. nope. not a damn thing.

TOTALLY no chance that i plugged the the in to the out and vice versa. nopers. no chance at allllllllllllll.

............. i totally did. damnit.

this things prettttttttty beastly. gonna take a minute to get my head around it though, i've never owned a Rat, and only had Biggah Rattuh for a hinute. liked it though.

I copied the above text and pasted it into google translater.

Turns out the above text is Swahili for-

"I crossed the in and out cables and got no sound. Then I realized my mistake and corrected the issue. The pedal works perfectly fine and sounds wonderful. I like Ryan and want to have his sheep babies."

I was actually going to email this to Ryan but its appropriate for this thread...

Dude, I have never had a Rat or vintage Rat to compare but hands down whichever version of the Rat Tails I have owned (this is my third one) they have never failed to put a smile on my face. I use it as a slightly gritty OD or boost to my sound and I always seem to keep the fundamental sound of my basses (all passive). I don't know why but I prefer them to all the OD's I have tried. Maybe cause it's not an OD?

I come back to the Rat Tail and its become my OD point of reference. Its just a clean, punchy, dirty sound and depending on my need I can boost and cut my highs (and level of breakup) to taste. I even got a Rusty Boxish sound out of it the other day (though my band does not come near to needing that kind of tone).

Anyway I was moved to write this because I just got an OD in the mail from another builder that I have been lusting after and I A/B'd it with my Rat Tail. Guess who won?

Maybe I like my OD dry (it the only word I can come up with that compares OD distortion with the Rat Tail distortion I dial up), but if I had one pedal that can deliver the dirt... its the RT.

Thanks Ryan!

Nice! Thanks!

I just sold my rusty box bc my rat tail beat it out on tone and breakup for what I wanted. I could pretty much replicate any rusty box tone easily (minus the boost).
