fx loop order

Hi my name is tristan. Ive been playing bass for a few years now but have never used any fx. Im starting to get tired of the same old bass sound so I decided to put a pedal board together. Its only a few pedals but im wondering what order they would work best in. Ok heres what I got. Boss tu3 tuner, obviously first, vox 2b effects pedal, behinger bass graphic eq pedal and last a bones aby switcher pedal (cause im running to amps). I guess my main question is should my graphic eq come before or after my vox fx pedal? Also should I keep both my amps onboard eq set to 12oclock (starting point) when using the fx and the graphic eq? Thanks, Tristan

Tristan, it all depends. If you want to EQ your sound before it goes into your effects pedal, put the EQ pedal first. If you want to EQ the sound that comes out of your effects pedal, put the EQ pedal second. I am not familiar with that particular effects pedal, but if it has compression and you typically use it, you might even want to put it first in the signal chain, even before the tuner. This gives a good, steady sound and level to everything that comes after.

There is, however, no right or wrong way to do it. Try it this way, that way, and the other way, until you come up with the sound you want. Only you can determine the way that is right for you.

I use a very simple pedal board. It has a wireless receiver, a compressor, a tuner, and a volume pedal. And they are wired up in that order.

the order you wrote them seems best to me, though it depends a bit on what effects you're using on the vox a bit.

If you were using chorus and flanger type effects, the EQ might be best before it.
