G&L 2000

I've got a '95 L2000. I love it. It is a totally quality, cool bass-great tone, great neck (jazz size), great looks. As soon as I played it, I knew I had a bass with the tone I always wanted in a bass. I got it used w/ case for $800.00 Here's a picture of it: (ignore that fly that got in the picture).

I'd hold out for a US model. Youcan order 4 different sized necks and the Number 8 is the finest neck ever invented on this or any other planet.
