G & L 2500

I am looking at a G & L 2500 at a pawn shop and I can't figure out what year this was made. The thing that's throwing me off is the headstock. Every picture I've seen online depicts a headstock with 3 tuners on top and 2 below. The one I'm looking at has 4 tuners on top with 1 below. Does anyone have any information as to how to determine the value of this ax?

Thanks.

The level of information (useful and not so useful) available on the interweb is rather stunning.

Back in the old days you'd have to climb a mountain and ask an old guy with a big beard questions like this.
Seriously I don't know how pre internet one would find out this sort of information and picking instruments and strings and all that would be a lot of trial and error and talking to the 'guy' at the local music store and hearing what a friend of a friend's cousin said one time.

I much prefer the appearance of the 4 + 1 G&L 2500s. When G&L changed to the 3 + 2 headstock, they scrunched up the body and ruined its aesthetics. It was done because people were whining about neck dive.
