Hey Nigel, Do you use the G&L Climax bass very often? I see your Musicman is your main axe. Also if you do use it alot what kind of amp do you use. I'm finding I need to use my sansamp directbox with my L1505 (same as climax bass) to calm down the midrange honk. I myself love midrange in my bass tone but I've suspected other bandmembers/soundmen don't always agree with my tone preference.

HI, The climax has a Ver 1.0 PRE AMP, The L1500'S have a Ver 1.1 PRE AMP which is flatter, I use the climax all the time nowadays with a GK RB400, the mid range is what I love, the treble is mental on the climax active pre amp, if you roll it back it works like a tone filter and the L1500 is a tamer animal altogther but very similar, I have a L1505 too. if you dig in to the MFD pick up it really growls and even distorts, play it gingerly and its a sweetie, I guess its a G&L thing and I love it...

That's cool 'cause I'm really liking my L1505 although I did do the resistor change to reduce the high end on the pre amp. Just curious do you use yours in series or parallel. The 1505 that is.
