G&L El Toro owners- question about passive mode

Hey Jack, long time no talk, how's it going? I almost always play both of mine passive. I occasionally cut the bass a tad, but my combo's a 15" and my Genzler stack 15" & 2x10. I post my Toro! Toro! pic every Cinco de Mayo. That's a big party day here in Tucson.

Mine looks like your natural colored one except.... It has no El Toro on the headstock, and the black control plate does not have the red switch portion sticking out.. Before G&L got shuttered I inquired about the SN B010744:

I got this reply from a Memo Romero, who was the service manager: "Completion year 1982, control setup is almost like the L2000 controls and switches with the exception of the middle switch. The El Toro moddel middle two way switch is a high impedance/low impedance function - Low Impedance setting allows the use of longer cords as well as lower volume settings without noise interference. The other two switches are the pickup selector, and the active passive switch. The knobs are volume, treble cut and bass cut." (I did correct a couple of typos)

I think we need to make an El Toro reference thread. For example, I just adjusted the pole pieces on mine today - prior owner had the A-string pole pieces quite proud of the others, and both pups, and I dialed them back down as the A string was noticably louder than the others. I used a 1.5mm hex key for this. Same one fits the grub screws for saddle height adjustment. I forget what size I used for the microtilt grub screw back when I figured out there was no truss rod adjustment. (I've only had it for a little over a year)

I purchased the fretted El Toro as a loaded body with no neck. Pic is with an SB2 neck I already had. Yours looks like it has a replacement neck too. Having a thumbrest up by the neck allows us to mine another area of the El Toro's sweet spots.

You are saying there is no truss rod adjustment?! That neck (if it is a G&L) is from 1983 or later for sure with the "hook" headstock. I've never heard of a G&L neck with no truss rod adjustment (nor any with heel adjustment) though maybe somebody did surgery on one of the many "ski-jumped" ones from the early 80s and just replaced the rod with some solid piece and plugged the hole? Definitely intriguing! How does it set-up relief-wise?
