Hi Everyone,
I'm Brad, new the the forum (be kind haha). Full disclosure i import and sell pickups and preamps into New Zealand.

I have a G&L L2000 Tribute that I love and have had for about 12-14 yrs. As many know, these have a chunky neck that many people struggle with. Most reviews i read or watch always comment on the necks.

So, I'm looking at getting a replacement neck made and considering making a few that other people can purchase. Again full disclosure as above, I have a business selling components. Just interested if I'm not the only one that is keen on a replacement necks for these beasts. Here in NZ the price difference for a tribute to a US made L2000 is about $2,000 NZD. So just upgrading to a US made L2000 is quite costly.

Thank you for your thoughts. And any admin can feel free to delete this thread if i have broken any rules.

A few years back you could find new Tribute necks for like $35. Haven't seen this in quite a while though. I bought one and then spent over a year watching for a lefty body with a square cut heel. Finally found one. The biggest problem is the square cut heel with these.

Hi Lug,
Were these like for like necks? Or a replacement that was more jazz shaped with a narrow nut width? I was looking to make with the same heel to fit. But then a more shaped J neck with 38-40mm nut width.
Mine is 1 1/2 " at the nut, ended up on this frankenbass...
