G & L necks

I have two G & L's posted in the classifieds- not much interest. I really like the '87 L2k neck (#6) and the '81 body of my L1K. SO, if there continues to be little interest, I'm thinking about switching the necks (both 3 bolt design) and keeping a "hybrid" and selling the other. Two questions:
1. Is the '87 L2k neck compatible w/ the '81 L1K body and vice versa?
2.What's the general consensus on the value of an '87 L2k body (black) w/no preamp- otherwise great with an '80 L1k maple neck??

The two necks *may* fit; G&L hand shaped their necks so there may be slight differences. That said, the value of the '80 L1K would take a serious hit by splitting up the neck and body.

well, nevermind... just looked and saw how modded the L1K is.. I say go for it and see what feels good to you. I have a recent L1K with the 1.5" neck (mine's a #8) and it's one of the best playing basses I've owned, and easily the best playing L1000 I've ever owned.

I've had pretty decent luck swapping three bolt necks of various vintages around.
Only way to know for sure is to try though.
