G&L SB2 as BEAD bass?

Hey all, I'm well satisfied with my two twin Spirit xz25 basses, except for the string hassle...I favor flatwounds and such has become all but unavailable since Status Graphite had to switch string suppliers. Thus, for the first time ever, I contemplate going back to a headed bass and also, the BEAD tuning idea on a four instead of my longstanding playing of only five-strings.

I don't presently own any G&L bass but have in the past and like them. Wondering if any thoughts on rigging up something like an SB2 for this usage.

Another bass id always thought interesting for this potential use is the Ibby ATK line, regarding which any comments equally welcome.

AFAIK, there's not any reason you couldn't.
You may have to enlarge the nut slots to accommodate larger gauge strings,
but that's about it.
There's a common misconception about increased tension, but in general reality,
a BEAD set actually has less overall tension than EADG set

I have converted 2 SB-2's to BEAD. Both play extremely well...
