G&Lbird

Paul Cristiano of the local band RadioRadio took a Thunderbird and replaced the guts with G&L electronics. It sounds really good! The weird thing is he went from a heavily modified Jazz to this. Anyway, enjoy!

Now that's a T-bird I could get with. If he used the 'k' switching mod on it it probably would sound like a heavily modified jazz. I love the single-coil tone of those mfd pickups more than the humbucking tone.

i never like the felling to have t-bird on me, but it rocks, I actully look back to it, and also because it "not normal" in greenland to have one so i want to break Fender roles in greenland, every body think fender is the only one because it was back in 70s

It's an awesome idea. If I were Gibson I'd be on the phone to G&L right now arranging a contract for pickups.

Back in the the mid - late eighties I put a set of G&L pickups in my Bicentennial 'Bird... They fit with no mods. I later re-installed the originals when I traded it crying.

It was a great sound... Hadn't thought about it in years until seeing this. I have a picture of it somewhere.
