G String keeps breaking!

Hi, I got a new set of Ernie ball strings about a week ago and i was playing for about a day or two and the g string broke at the bridge after some hard slap bass. So i got a new g string also Ernie ball. After about a week that broke too(at the bridge exactly like the other one)! Tell me what u think. I did just replace the g string tuning machine about a week and a half ago and it started after that so...

Thanks.

When I was but a young'un, and learning to play, I went through a phase where I broke a G string DAILY. I tried different strings, different bridges, filing the saddles so they're nice and smooth, even sliding shrink tubing over the strings over the bridge.

Very little helped until I refined my right hand popping technique. Years later. Hope you have better luck.

So i got a new g string also Ernie ball. After about a week that broke too(at the bridge exactly like the other one)! Am i stringing it wrong, is it a bad brand? Tell me what u think. (I do a lot of slapping, but this hasn't happened before except with this brand of strings)

Thanks.

Check the wire at the bridge to see if the ball is turning and pinching the wire around the ball as the string loads into the back of the bridge. If so, try turning the ball to avoid that.

i seem to remember an interview with geddy lee where he was breaking a lot of strings when he changed the bridge on a 4001 to a badass. the bridge was moved half an inch changing the angle on the saddle and the problem went away. i'd recommend getting a pro to look at it, it could be an easy fix.
