Double Bass G string notch: does this look normal?

IMAG0120.jpg

Should the G string be so sunk into the bridge? The top of the string is almost flush with the wood, whereas the E, A, and D strings are about 50% in the notches.

I'm having trouble getting the G string to resonate fully and thought this could be the problem... thoughts?

Is the string pinched in the slot? When you look at it from the opposite direction, is there a gap between the string and the bridge?

As long as it is sitting on the bottom of the slot, the sides aren't pinching it in, and the action isn't lower than it needs to be, there really is no problem with it being a little deeper than the others.
