Please point me to an online source for the gadget you put in your electric drill to change strings, and also a decent, lightweight electric drill.
Thanks in advance.

This is very similar to the old discontinued Dunlop I've had for over twenty years. I like this kind because you have the option to use it without a drill.I have a variable speed drill, but use a little Black and Decker handheld mini screwdriver/drill thing that runs on 4 AA batteries with an older version of Invalid Link Removed. Disclaimer: mine doesn't glow in the dark.
And then, I think: how often do I change strings on my 3 basses? Once a year? And it takes some effort to learn to use the tool to save... 2 minutes of twisting? In my case it's not even worth finding the tool and ensuring its charged!

I'm about to start experimenting w/ strings and the tool will encourage me to do that - and my mother said I need a lot of encouragement. And I'd like to start changing strings on my students' instruments, too, and, well, I'm getting the d#$% thing.@Tom Lane said:And then, I think: how often do I change strings on my 3 basses?
