Gallien Krueger 200MB combo hum

I figured that if I were to seek for a mod, the simplest solution would be this:

Just for the good of the order there were two different versions of the Gallien Krueger 200MB combo. They had a Series I and a Series II ( I owned both of them). This probably accounts for the differences in the power switch. I would follow Aged Horses's wise advice and get a amp tech to isolate and repair the issue

Thank-you for that. I read in Google AI that there was a Series I and II, and I wasn’t aware of that. I see, too, that my Series II has a compressor that the I apparently doesn’t have. There seems to be a difference in the power switches as well.

Once had an amp (Ashdown I think) with a transformer that, after a few years of use, started vibrating. Caused by the alternating current acting on the transformer components. Had a friend who offered to dip it in some kind of specialized dampening varnish. But never got around to do that, I minimized the problem with some rubber rings and tightening all the bolts.

Maybe this this video can be of help?
