Do you mean a combo? How about the MB115. Or do you mean a cab? Then there is the Neo115. Or do you mean an entirely different combo/cab aimed squarely at upright amplification in a compact package?

I think what FDeck was alluding to was a neo version of the MBX extension cabinet, which has the potential to be stupid light. Since Neo's really put out heat I would think putting one in a sealed cabinet just wouldn't work with those speakers.

Gotcha. Yes, that would be a pretty cool extension cab.

FWIW, there are several brands offering sealed enclosures with neodymium drivers (Markbass, for one), and to best of my knowledge, they have had no thermal-related issues.

I just got back from seeing the Reverend Horton Heat in Sydney.
Jimbo Wallace was using two RB400s with two 4x10 and two 1x15"
I suspect, though, that he was getting most of his tone shaping done by the little red box on the top of the two stacks. It looked to me like Raven Labs master blender.
I have to say, I wasnt thrilled with his sound. It was classic scooped rockabillly bass, though with lots of thundering lows, and clickety tops, but not alot of what I would have called note definition.

I had a whirl on a MB210 in the shops with my upright and K&K pickups and pre and was damn impressed!
And they are so light.

Ive been using a Nemesis 210 now for about 10 years for smaller shows, and been really happy with it, but if it did come time for a new amp, I would certainly be trying to get the MB series to be beaten $ for tone and weight for weight against all comers.

I frequently use my dad's fairly ancient 800RB through a pair of Bag End cabs (S15-B and S12-B) with EVM speakers. Sounds good, and even better with fdeck's HPF-pre in line. I like it best with the Fishman Full Crcle, but have also used the K&K Bass Max with decent results. I used to play a 400RB (newer version) through a Hartke 4x10" (ah the joys of community college equipment). It was OK, nothing special.

I'll add my voice to the chorus of those who are happy with the 800RB. To the above mentioned 1 MOhm input + low bass roll off, I would add to the list very useable EQ points and Q that play well with my piezos on my upright and with my electric basses.

I very much want an old 400RB as a smaller sibling for it.

Although I haven't seen one recently, they do come up on Ebay and in the TB classifieds fairly often. Most of them have some road wear since that amp hasn't been built for quite a while now.
