Gallien Krueger Club. GK Rules !

Checked all connections and tried firing it back up in biamp mode and it crackled as it was powering up and I shut it off immediately. Did the same thing when I hooked up to my GK Neo 410 as well and I shut it off before it powered completely up.

I'm sure hoping like hell that I don't have a prob in that amp head. It seems to respond fine with a 2 pole cable. I'm hoping its a bad cable. This is my first experience like this.

And is that something that can be ordered and replaced by an average Joe, or does it have to be sent to a certified repair shop?
I'd defer to B-string for that. He knows a lot about amp insides.

Was the cabinet in bi-amp mode the first time you tried it? I wonder if you could mod a cable so that you are only accessing the tweeter amp? Try a different speakon 4 cable?

If it still makes trouble with another speakon4, then it seems that only when the tweeter amp is accessed does the crackling occur, hence my suspicions.

Well Wave Rider...you are correct sir! Pulled the cover off and yep it's fried. Looks like I'm sitting on a bad deal man.

Thanks to you and B-String for chiming in and giving me some insight. Much appreciated even though I believe this amp had this prob when I bought it.

See pic.

Had it for about a month or better. Is this repairable or am I looking at selling this for parting out? Granted it still gets the job done without biamping, but without proper repair, would this lead to bigger problems in the circuitry?

How could someone do this deliberately?

I could well be wrong, but I thought there was a 45 day period for disputing a deal on ebay?

Were you always going full range with the 410? Sorry for your hassles...

Doubt you would have any trouble using it as is (just no biamp). Repairs, if the PCB has not seen heavy damage itself, between $75 and $125 at most shops (or G-K can repair it). That board is available as a drop in unit from G-K but it is pricey that way. Contact [email protected] for more details.

Hooking up more than two cabs in biamp mode (4 ohm minimum on that horn amp also) or trying to "add the horn amp to the main amp outputs", you know to get that extra 50 watts? Guaranteed to fry the horn amp!
