Gallien Krueger Club. GK Rules !

Got a CX 210 coming to run with my MB800 to see what kind of gig rig that makes for my EUB. Anyone else running that pair?

Scott, we just keep following each other around! I've got a Neo212-II inbound today! I've played GK amps for 13-14 years, but never owned a GK cab. I'm hoping it'll come close to the output of the Genz Benz Uber212 I have now (in a slightly smaller/lighter package) so I can move that one out. It's a great cab, but space is limited and it's just a hair bigger (physically) than I want to deal with (enough that I'd just take the NV610 instead.)

LOL, you are a better man than me..... my NV610 has never left my house. The CN212 and the CX210 will serve as my main gigging amps. Hoping the 800MB and CX210 make a good gigging rig for the Azola. I want to carry the lightest and smallest gear because I will be carrying the EUB and my Lull on those gigs. Hope I dig it. I have never owned or even heard a GK stand alone cab. I have had a combo and they were OK but I am hoping for some warmth and clear bottom.

Im looking to update soon...
Anyone ever do a A/B with the Neo 112 to a Aguilar GS 112? Wondering how they compare.. I know genzler ex Genz Benz is coming out with new stuff but no one has a comparison on gigs yet..

I used to use the aggy GS112s.. used them for years. They were loud and BIG bottom . i liked the bottom but they lacked mid definition for me. The bottom was big but not boomy which made them sound huge and not boxy...
So looking for anyone that knows eh GS112 and GK 112s

View attachment 666577 My old rig GK 400 WITH A GK CAB 4X12S 2X10S

Beautiful rig there!!

Question....

So yesterday I did a recording and used the XLR outta the back of my 800RB, and it got barely any signal until I cranked the input volume all the way up(the 300 watt/output gain was maxed and the boost!!), is this normal with this amp??

I didn't take my B7K(my normal DI box)as I never had a problem going direct from an amp and I was really hoping to use the line out on this for live situations ....

If this is normal for this amp,is there some kind of way to fix this?? I've read about a gentleman in CA who has specific modifications for both the 400 and 800RB that not only slightly improve tone but also make the XLR function better,is this worth it financially and have any GK club members had this done??

It's been a while since I posted here. I'm currently using my 700RBii with a NEO 112 at church. Jazz bass favoring the bridge pickup a bit. DR nickel Lo Rider strings. Woofer and tweeter @ noon. Boost @ 1 o'clock. Volume knob for volume control. No contour, presence @ 9 o'clock. Treble @ 10, hi and low mids @ 1, bass at 10 or less. I use the amp to mostly carry the room. It's not a very big room. Small amount of signal DI (post) to FOH. Cab sits on a gramma pad. Stage is 3' high and hollow. Gramma makes a huge difference for me. I use a zoom h5 to record each rehearsal and service from the back of the room. (Maybe 30' from the stage). I absolutely love the tone and how it sits in the overall mix.

new to this thread and would like some opinions.

about to pick up a used 700RBii, putting together another rig.
will be mainly used as my practice amp, but, if the need ever arose, but it's not likely, I chose 12's.

the only real experience I've had with 12's is a Mesa Powerhouse 212, cause I owned it.
and I'm a complete A..H...!!!!!!!!! for ever selling it.

I have played through the Ampeg SVT 112av and 212av, and they kill, this was at GC by the way.
have played, and gigged through lot's of stuff in the past, mainly Ampeg, and 10's.
and not a fan of Aguilar, and I mean no disrespect to them.

but aint doin nothing now, just want to start practicing again, the cab's that I'm eyen are;

Ampeg 112av, or 212av, I know the 212 is 4 ohm.
GK 112 ii neo or two, or 1-212 neo. which I haven't heard yet.
Mesa Powerhouse 212 which I already love.
or single Mesa PH 112 or two.
I would be trying to by used.

I'm in no rush, but will have the RB soon, would like to know your experiences if anyone has, or has had any of these combinations.
and how you like or dislike any of the above mentioned.

I have been reading this thread though and like what I'm hearing about the GK neo's.

Neo 212 gets my vote. Big enough if you start playing in a band but nit huge.
