Hi Guys.
Ive got a strange issue that might be amp related.
At the last gig i plugged everything in but couldn't get anything out of my GKMB800. The blue power light was on so im assuming the amp hadn't detected any issues. At first i was plugged in to a wireless system, and that was showing a good signal from the bass. I took that out of the loop and went direct to the head with a different lead. I had a very slight hiss thorough the cab's tweeter but nothing else.
Changed leads, even the speaker lead, but nothing helped. After about 15mins though It started working. It defiantly wasnt the leads or the bass, and I hadn't turned the amp off and on again.
We played for 2 1/2 hours without any issues. No cut outs at all, which i would assume means it wasn't a loose joint in a cable (by this time i had plugged the radio systmwe back in and used that).
Thinking back this also happened at a gig a month ago ( i have gigged in the mean time). That time i put it down to a bad PSU lead for my FX, but im now thinking that was just a timing issue and the amp had started working by the time i changed that over.
Any thoughts? The amp is less than a year old, and once its running its perfect. Sending it back would probably result in the shop saying its fine. Its stored in the house, and the gigs have not been hot sweaty clubs etc.
A bit worried that this is happening, but luckily i still have my MarkBass F1. That will be coming with me to gigs from now on.

Very cool! Here's my MB200 in a rack with a 400RB. If you have the capability to print on a 2u rack panel you could turn your a.i. in to reality.
Just have to find the time...
You can get MB500 rack kits (ears) from Sweetwater. They are also available direct from GK but SW is a bit cheaper and has free shipping.
There are no MB200 specific rack ears available. The MB500 has the same hole pattern on the side as the MB200 so the MB500 ears fit the MB200 perfect. It's the narrow width of the MB200 that's the problem for rack mounting. It's an easy DIY to make adapters. Get 1u rack panel and cut off the ends. Drill holes to match the holes on the ears. Attach the adapters to the ears with standard 10-32 rack screws and lock nuts. Eazy peazy, clean looking and not expensive. (Note that these measurements are for my rack. Be sure to check the exact measurements necessary for the rack case you're using.)
If you don't want to go the cut-and-drill route you can get a 1u rack shelf (the kind with holes in the self), remove the rubber feet from the MB200 and attach the amp to the shelf with screws where the feet were attached, or use zip ties.
First part of my second GK setup came today. Neo 212 which will be paired with an MB 500 although a part of me really wants to get an old 400 or 800rb.
Hi guys. I just got a V1 MB212 combo. I know these things were popular but had a lot of QC issues. I have a few questions that I can't seem to find on my own.
1. Are the speakers/cab the same as the speakers/cab in the 212 neo cab that they built? In the same vein, is the combo amp head the same as the mb500 amp head? If not, what are the differences?
2. Could I possibly remove the combo amp head and use it as a standalone head for powering other cabinets?
3. I notice on the back near the power cable input it states the wattage. 580 watts maximum, 128 watts average. This seems to indicate that, power-wise, this amp is more like other 150 watt combos. I thought this amp was supposed to be 500 watts RMS? People certainly appear to think that in all of the threads I've read on it.

The MBF800 with 2x212 is just crazy good and can be hella loud.

If you had your druthers, would you have kept the 210 or used a CX115? That's my delimna. I've been reading about both cabs and they both get great reviews. Believe it or not, a lot of reviewers are saying that the CX210 seems to be made to go with the CX115. I don't need both, but I can't decide between the 210 or 115. The 115 weighs seven pounds less though...
I'd go for the 210. But then I'm a lover of 10" speakers.
I guess once again the only right answer is: Try them both and let your ears decide...

Question for those with direct experience:
Do you feel "presence" on the 1001 is "ewuivilant to the bright switch" on the Fusion550?
I always have presence set at 50% on the 1001.
With gain and eq set same same on both amps, the 550 feels like it needs the bright on to feel same same...

I don't have any experience with the Fusion 550, but according to the manuals the bright switch on the 550 is almost exactly the same as 50% presence on the 1001: "Bright" boosts fixed 4dB @ 10kHz, "Presence" boosts up to 9dB @10kHz (when dimed).
New cab day! Didn't really need it, but the price was right and the location just a couple of streets down from where I live, so I went and bought a 210RBH cab today. The grille had scratchs and the rat fur flaps folded from the baffle side into the port openings need glue, but otherwise the cab was in good condition. Some cat hair but yeah.
The grille was bent slightly (just barely, but enough) from the middle so that it touches the front gaskets(?) of the woofers, is that an issue? The gaskets seem really really stiff though, so I guess it's nothing to be worried about.
