Generally I'd agree, the bi-amp feature is a nice-to-have, but it isn't critical. Aside from being able to control the tweeter level from the front panel, it was primarily developed to be used when driving RB amps into distortion - so as to protect the tweeter and keep it clean by driving it with a dedicated clean amp. IME most people that are driving their amp that hard aren't really that interested in super high-frequency tweeter content... so there's always the option of turning down/off the tweeter as well in that scenario.
I used to use it when I had my Neo 112-iis paired up with my 700RB-ii, but don't really miss the bi-amp feature now that I'm running cabs that aren't wired for it.

Bought/returned a Traynor DB800H last week -- it's a cool amp, just sounded veiled and "hesitant" compared to my 700RBII...
For those who find the GK too "in your face" the Traynor has great features & power.
Now, I have a parametric EQ on the way to give me a bit more control than the GK's EQ is allowing me.
Hopefully I can zero-in on the punch and fatness that I want, without losing the GK slam...

Dealing with the same issue too. Will probably be ordering an eq of some type to try to rectify. Talked to a bassist friend, whom is much more experienced, about how he acquired his super punchy tone with his SVT3. Turns out that he uses the SVT graphic eq to boost the overall mid but he notches out the 600hz area slightly. Give that a try.
I've thought about adding a graphic eq myself, to me 2001 I need a rack mount but I don't want 20 damn bands. Suggestions on a good EQ that is maybe 7 or s bands? Maybe 9

I find it interesting how some of us chase goals like “punch” and “immediacy” through amp selection, while others chase them through pickup selection, or string selection, or cabinet selection, or...
Is that so? Hmm, shows how much time I spend on TB outside the amps and cabs forum. Somebody tell them they're doing it wrong, and that the issue's been their amp all along.
Next thing you'll tell me is that they try to get it from wood type or neck attachment methods. Ha!
If I do go with a graphic eq, I'm likely going to go with the ART 31 band. Yeah it's a bit overkill, but it also has variable HPF/LPF built in which could come in very handy.
I'd expect that a power amp would be a power amp, but with that being said, I have no clue what the difference between the two is.
I think the "S" denoted "stereo", but I'm blanking on the "B". Who knows, maybe it did have some bass specific function.
Just came here to post this photo. This rig keeps slaying. Clean and powerful. 
Got to place it in a new position in our rehearsal room and turned the cabs sideways, made a huge difference. Room acoustics are something to be taken seriously.

Thanks. Gator GR-3S shallow case, gets the work done. Took the 3U version because the amp has a cooling vent on top.
