Gallien Krueger "Hi Boost" filter

I've been recently experimenting a lot with effects and pedals and I discovered my favorite sound so far. Using my '86 400RB head, the hi boost engaged in combination with the cab sim engaged in my Tech 21 pedal produces the clearest and just shimmering tone I've ever heard in a bass, it sounds awesome.

I don't know how many more years I can rely on my amp so I was wondering if there's a way to mimic the hi boost filter with another amp or pedal. I think it's the only element that is hard to find, I mean I've tried the presence control in more modern GK units and I didn't like it, it's totally different because Hi Boost gives the sound a lot of character and snap.

My equiment is:
1991 Jackson bass (soloing the P pickup)
Stainless steel strings
.88 picks
Limiter enhancer pedal
Tech 21 pedal
1986 GK 400RB head
Hartke 2.5XL cabinet

I can't answer your question directly but agree, the hi boost is a really useful switch for tone shaping. The good news is:
1) these amps are notoriously bullet-proof and you likely won't have an issue
2) if you DO have an issue, most competent amp techs are familiar with it and can work on it
3) if the worst happens and the amp goes down and can't be repaired - you can buy another used one for about the same price as a decent effects pedal. There are usually one or two for sale on TB at any given time.
