Gallien-Krueger MB110 Delays - Should i wait?

I am relatively new to the bass guitar (played for years in my teens, picked it up again last summer for the first time in over 15 years) and am looking to get a practice amp. I play by myself in the basement and don't currently jam with other musicians. This could change, but isn't likely to in the near future. I had decided on the Gallien-Krueger MB110 - I love the tones, and I really like the expansion possibilities for future if I decide I need to go louder. Which leads me to the problem: Apparently G-K is experiencing some serious manufacturing delays with the MB110. I (back)ordered one four weeks ago, and my shop told me that it will be at least four more weeks until they get one, and could be longer (all of the big name shops online are also out of stock).

Should i look at other combos? The MB108 could work, but it's also out of stock. I'm afraid the MB112 is too much amp for my day-to-day use. Do I look at the Fender Rumble 40 or 100? Ampeg BA110 or BA112? Something else?

If you intend to play with other musicians or even eventually gig, it’s best that you buy something that will fulfil both needs. There really is no such thing as “too much amp” to practice with. My practice amp is an Ampeg B15N. I’ll never gig with it but it sure is fun to hear the tone of that amp.

Edit: My advice would be to buy the most powerful amplifier you can afford. It also doesn’t have to be a combo.

I have the GK MB212II and it is a great amp for rehearsals and low to medium volume venues. If you plan on ever playing with a group you don't want to be short on volume and end up needing to buy another amp.

exactly! my practice amp is a 500 watt head through a 112 cab.

that being said, OP, my cab is a GK 112 Neo, and it's got really wonderful tone. if you can get a MB112, i expect you'll be one happy camper.

I have just one amp - GK MB115, it covers everything I need: monitoring on a big stage, small and even medium gigs, and home practise. Get a bigger amp - MB112 ie, and use volume.
