One thing I have to keep being reminded about is each of these 3 knobs provides a "cut" in the power/volume level.

My optimal clean sound:
Gain - 25%ish as it adds the "growl" sound
Boost - 75-100%
Master - 50-80%

this works something like this (boost@75%xmaster@50%=37.5% power)

Me thinks the growl also compresses. When I'm reminded of these, I have a better experience.

Other settings:

I leave the contour off, limiter on, horn on
Treble 80-100%
Bass less than 50%
others blended between those

I only have gain. I don't have a master, and I don't have a limiter.

I again used my mb112ii three nights this past weekend with a classic country band. I left at home my first edition 115, which does, indeed, pack a deeper punch, but the "little fella" held it's own well with a not-so-quiet drummer and guitarist who runs two heavily-affected Peavey amps. No PA support. I put a Sansamp BDDI into the GK to take the place of the boost that is on the 115. Load ins/outs keep getting lighter! A couple of other venues I've run the "chain out' into the 115 for some funky thump.

I've been very happy with my 112 and 115. No desire to do other Stuff in the amp world.

I Did have a 112 failure, but GK has a great warranty, and the 112 has logged lots of hours since the repair.

I have an MB112 and it is a very nice amp. I also have a line 6 lowdown 150 with all the effects and noise and crap. I use the GK.

Hi all.....I'm currently playing bass in South Florida Senior Big Bands. Huge Fun! I LOVE the size and portability (22lbs) of my Fender Rumble 100....and for some tunes it's Perfect....but on others it is unsatisfying. How does the GK MB112 compare to the Rumble 100. I see it's 100 watt more powerful...Weighs 30lbs, not bad. Would it give me the old school depth I want but sound clearer....possibly more musical. Has anyone replaced the speaker in the Rumble?
