I just picked one of these up. Its a really really good sounding little combo. I dont think you can beat it at this price point. Loud, clear, and relatively light weight. I dont miss the tweeter at all. I'll probably gig it this week.

FWIW I have used the MB112 for bass guitar in a small club with a tasteful drummer and two guitar players, and the amp was adequate. The other guys in the band were favorably impressed. If more volume was required or if I were playing in a bigger club, the MB112 probably wouldn't have cut it though. It's a nice small amp, but it has its limits.

I bought the 112 for the weight. I was never really a fan of 12" speakers for bass but this one changed my mind.
Used it at a couple of bar gigs and it did the job....no problem.
Bought the 115 a couple of weeks later. Now, I keep the 112 at home for practice/jams/open mikes and the 115 at the rehearsal space for rehearsals and gigging.
I will say though that I can dial in more of an upright bass sound on my fretless ABG with the 112 as opposed to the 115.
In either case though, I can't say there's anything I don't like about either of them.

Nice playing and nice warm tone! Do you run your p-bas right into the GK or do you user any pedals?
Thankyou. Yeah its surprising how warm the MB112 can get. I bought it just for rehearsals but it handles this kind of gig in spades. The amp is placed under the keyboardists Fender amp behind me, no pedals - tone knob on the 51p wide open, high+low mid boosted.

I had 2 MB115s. One I was using as a monitor, at one of our campuses every Tuesday night, and the other as a stand alone at our newest campus on Sunday mornings. Excellent amps.
I walked into GC and they had an Ampeg BA115 sitting by the front door. It looked brand new but had 2 missing knobs. The price tag was $129.00! GC said it was used and since it had 2 missing knobs, they marked it down.
I snagged it, bought 2 knobs from Ampeg for $10.00, sold my one MB115 for $350.00, and I'm now using the BA115 as a monitor.
I then saw a TBer selling his MB210 for a great price with an amp cover thrown in. Sold my other MB115 and now using the MB210 as stand alone at church.
My logic for getting the 210 was the connection it has for an extension cab. I figure with all that punch and speaker output, I should have no problem playing in any venue with the possible exception of an arena!
But even there I'd most likely be going through a PA.

I just picked up an MB115. Haven't had much time to experiment with it but it coped nicely with the different tones I wanted to get from it and made my B string sound quite nice provided I didn't crank the bass knob too much, when it got rather flabby. The tweeter isn't great but I'm happy leaving it off all the time as the sound from the main speaker was bright enough for me. Should do very nicely for the smaller funktions I'll be using it for 
Sadly couldn't compare it to a 112, but as I understand it the 115 shifts a bit more air, which could be useful for playing with our enthusiastic drummer...

I might have to go to GC and check one of these out. I want a small and light combo with some power, and this might be the ticket. My ideal would be another Markbass CMD 121P, but I am not too keen on coming up with $900 for another Markbass.

I've been considering upgrading to the MB112 from a 15w practice amp. Would the MB112 be overkill for practicing at home? I'm not gigging right now, but it would be nice to already have an amp capable for small gigs when the time comes.
I've been wanting one of these so badly...tried one out at a Samash with a MIM deluxe jazz and it sounded great. I could totally swing one in the next few weeks but something tells me to wait for the new GK combos to roll out....
No it's great for home prac. The only thing is that if you are a tweeter guy, want a more 'balanced' tone, or are a slapper - you might want to go with an MB200 + 112.
Hi all, just thought I'd chime in with my experience. I bought an MB112 from a popular european online music store and it was faulty on arrival. Low volume, really thin sound with no bass in it. Returned it and used the credit to buy a power amp and built myself a fEarful.
I have read about quite a few people having issues with the new smaller combo amps from GK. Seems their quality control on these is not up to scratch, although they do have very good after sales service and put some effort into sorting out the problems customers have. Would cost them less to sort it out BEFORE letting them leave the factory, though.

I'm now using an Ashbory into my MB112. It has an active system, but it's actually kinda low output.
Would there be any problem with me plugging into the passive input?

I just used my MB112 with an active 6-string to put a bottom on a full pit orchestra this past week. It has an articulate sound with power (or finesse) when needed. Loved it! Also used it last week with my 5-string double bass for a jazz revue; It lined out to the sound board and kicked a seven piece jazz band around the auditorium with no problem! I would say the GK MB112 certainly has uses beyond those of a 'home practice amp"! My grade is 100% in both the flexibility AND portability columns.
I have had mine for some time now.
I love the weight and size. I love the tone options. Perfect.
I love having an XLR out built into the amp.
Volume wise - I'll call it pretty good, but certainly not special.
Did you find yours was as loud as you expected. I mean - this is not a 40w toy - it has a 200w amp. I expected more volume.
