I didn't mean any disrespect...... what makes me curious is how does someone have one of these experiences? In this case you'd have to at one time owned a cable that picked up radio interference, then a seperate incident where your bass did and then a thrid where your amp did or do they all happen at once?

Do you have to live under power lines for this?

Then the follow up with Monster being a waste of money....

Hate to derail, but Monster cables are awful. Never had one that lasted more than 6 months. Bought their $150 model a couple years ago, best sounding cable ever, couldn't believe the difference it made. Broke after 3 months. If you're a gigging musician go with Mogami.

It's ironic that you bring this up in a thread about an amp with serious documented issues.

As for me I don't think Monster does anything magical but I have had good experiences for the most part.

Nope, just experiences. I have experienced all of the above at one time or another. In Korea, one guitar cable picked up an English-speaking station whenever I used my Sansamp GT2. Made for a niece gag during rehearsals.

One of the complaints I have repeatedly posted about my sound is the quality of the electricity as it runs through the circuits in the building we worship in (people in El Paso say that's normal EVERYwhere here); this weekend I plugged into a Furman 66-SB power strip and the audience and other musicians heard the difference. No tweeter buzz, no high-frequency hiss, all of which I already knew was coming from the building since it's repeated through all amps, cables, and basses. Used that power strip yesterday and today, nothing but pure bass thunder. I really don't care why it works, since it's just another experience in my musical journey. Crap happens and sometimes something works as advertised. Which brings up the next post, "Thanks RAG."

The MB2​-500 fits in the large pocket with the power cord (zipped, I might add), the bass cable fits in the front pocket with some accessories, the tuner fits in the gig bag's top pocket by the head, the backpack on the floor carries the power strip and speaker cable, the BRX10.2NEO can be carried with one hand short distances or two hands for longer. Proven one-man load in and load out twice today, and the people loved the Warwick $$'s sound through the MB2​. Thanks RAG, great product.

I just got my A05 version from RMC (great price and service by the way). I have not had a chance to try it with a cab yet but with headphones it's noisy/hissy even at all flat settings and no contour. I tried the DI out into my Rolls PM50 and it too is noisy/hissy. The ground lift does not help. With the DI if I run it pre-eq it cuts most of the hiss. I will try it tomorrow thru a cab. I am totally not excited to have to send the thing back. I had some reservations about going with this unit after reading some of these posts but felt relieved when I saw the serial number of A05. Hopefully thru a cab it will be negligible but it would be nice to be able to use the headphone feature. RAG or Brian feel free to talk me down (or in the right direction).

first gig out last night with my MB-2, was flawless

tone, STELLAR

was runing a P bass / jazz flats thru a VTBass pedal - MB-2 - two Carvin ls1503's, ran @ 4ohm all night - no issues :hyper:

ran the settings on the head,

Gain - 11:30
Contour - 0
Treble - 12:00
Hi-Mid - 12:00
Lo-Mid - 12:00
Bass - 10:00
Master - 9:00

was playing with 2 guitars / half stacks, ( at lower volume, per the room ) & a loudish drummer, the MB-2 sat in the mix well & anchored the bottom,,, with the master at 9 :smug:

tone was warm & punchy, carried well thru the room, can't wait to play a larger room to open it up a bit

picked up this head as a backup, & also wanted to get back into the micro amp thing, ( tried with the markbass gear, two heads, tone didn't work for me )

overall, very impressed with the new MB-2

thanks rag & crew there at GK, it's a keeper :D

Finally got to spend some time with my mb2-500. Sounds great, however its not grounded correctly :scowl: The only other time in my life that I've had a problem like this was when I bought a 700RB-II used 6 months ago and had to pay $150 to get it grounded correctly (from a standard defect in its production). So anyway, it was repaired on 3/23 with notes of PRE AMP and NEW CHASIS before I got it. Here's the thread I got it from: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=532249&highlight=mb2+500

it sounds like the wiring in your house / studio / whatever is ganked

would be getting that checked out first before spouting out that there is a defect in the two ( different models, i might add ) of GK heads you've owned :eyebrow:

Well, as I said before, the 700RB-II was a FACTORY DEFECT, as in the tech I took it to (former Senior Technician for Marshall Amplification and Lead Technician for Korg USA) called GK and they told him "oh yeah do this", which he didn't end up doing since it wasn't a good fix, he came up with his own solution.

Anyway, none of my other amps (I've got around 15 if you include guitar amps), including the fixed GK, do this. Also, people are complaining about noises in this thread. I'm just saying I'm pretty positive (99.9%) its the grounding within the amp in my case, and maybe their cases too.

Dave, If I had any notion that there was a problem with the amp I would NOT have sold it. I don't do business that way. Although I stated in the ad "no returns" - I will refund you if you send the amp back to me. PM me if you want to follow up.
