So I'm new to amps and I've recently been drawn to GK amps. I have recently discovered the new GK MB2 amp which has alot of pros. Mainly the fact that it's ultra lightweight and has 500W worth of power being a big pull factor. However no music store near me has this amp so I can't test it out, and I've found some good deals on it online. I don't tend to buy without trying first.

Does anyone have this amp yet? Anyone have anything good to say, any opinions? I'm really thinking about getting this amp but would like some demos and opinions first.

I have this amp and I have the GK 1001RB-II. They are both great amps. I have not had any problem with the MB2​-500 at all. I have the latest version. Many of the online stores have liberal return policies so that you can try it and if you don't like it, return it.

There is a HUGE thread on these heads if you do a search. There are a wide variety of small, 500 watt micro amps out there, so make sure you do your homework. They vary widely in tone, features, and reliability.

I have been playing through a MB2-500 for a few months now. It gets played about 4-8 hours a week right now at practice(band isn't playing out yet). I use an active bass and a passive bass, effects and clean tones and turned way up. I would've traded my old amp head in when I bought the GK but I read a lot of threads from people who have had problems with these so I figured I would keep it for a while just in case. I'm still waiting for a problem with the GK, it hasn't given me any at all. i guess I'll let you guys know if I run into trouble.
