High end hiss from too much treble is one thing, but this was a legitimate whine. I've got quite a few other amps and none of them exhibit this, including other GK's (both RB and MB series).
I don't care about fan noise, but a high pitched whining sound that I could hear clear as day playing with a rock band in a live situation is not something I'll live with. There was something wrong for sure.
I wish I thought to record it...
Guess that's different. Yet, it is truly unacceptable. bassgod0dmw said:High end hiss from too much treble is one thing, but this was a legitimate whine. I've got quite a few other amps and none of them exhibit this, including other GK's (both RB and MB series).

A bit disappointed with this issue.

.I've never been one to be susceptible to amp GAS, but... despite having a MB500 as a main and a MB200 as a backup, I think I want a MB800!
I talked with Erik at RMC audio this past week and he said he spoke with GK and he says that they are still on track to get the new MB Fusion 800's mid December for $679. I know Chef mentioned that it might be mid January but this was the latest info I got over the past few days so I'm really hoping mid December![]()
Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've been a GK user since the mid 80's and have not had one single issue. That includes a 27 yr. old 400RB, (which I still own) a 1001RBII, A MB2 500 and a Fusion.
