It's not just Fable 2 and Fallout 3 that are on the Horizon, think of Dead Space and Left 4 Dead, which are also out very soon! I just hope you Aussies get the full version of Dead Space with no content censored (I know what your censor boards can be like!). Morphine was actually removed from all versions of Fallout 3 so that Australia would get the same game as everyone else!

I haven't heard of Dead Space or Left 4 Dead, I'll check them out.

And yeah, our classification board is hopeless. It's all thanks to one guy too, every member on the board wants to introduce an R rating for games to Australia, but one guy disagrees, and for some stupid reason everyone has to agree to make a change. So until that guy gives in we have all our games censored if they are deemed to be worse than MA15+.

As for the morphine, I read on Wikipedia that Bethesda actually resubmitted it with morphine still included, but it has been re-named as "Drug-X" or something like that, and the effects are dumbed down? Either way, sucks that it was edited in the first place.

yeah, they just changed it so it's not listed as Morphine anymore. The UK used to see this kind of thing with older GTA games, in which never used real drug names in any part of the game. Obviously, the censors have lightened up as drug references are pretty commonplace in games these days using all the usual (real world) terminology.

Rock Band is about the only game I play nowadays. I pretty much just play vocals, which admittedly means I'm basically just doing karaoke, but it's still on a video game system.

I just find it silly that television programs are aired here in Australia with drug references and drug usage all the time. But as soon as a game calls a drug "morphine", and depicts a character using it, the board decides it needs to be censored.

I don't agree one bit with the "yeah but you're not watching it, you're doing it" argument that people always put up when on the issue of game censorship. What a load of crap. So it's okay to blow someone's head off with the V.A.T.S system in Fallout 3, but it's not okay to do morphine? What's up with that?

New comp is here, finally. The place I ordered from got my order mixed up. They increased the price and slightly modified the specs of the package I got, so I'm assuming my order got lost somehow. No probs though, they were very friendly and the computer is here two days after I contacted them about it.

It's so weird looking inside this computer. Technology has changed so much since I got the one I'm typing this up on. The innards of this look freakin' prehistoric compared to this new one. The heatsync for the CPU is HUGE!
