Garage band interface advice

I cant see the whole thread at Presonus, because eveytime I rigister, they never send me a e mail confirmation. I dont know what the deal is


I cant figure this part out :
you need to set each track to it's own input... right now they are all set to in 1, in 2, in 1, in 2, etc.

in the Cubase Mixer, look at the top of each track's fader. pull down the IN 1 menu and change the input channel.

That presonus forum is unreal. Nothing works, no one answers any qestions, and I have YET been able to log in

I'm following this thread because I'm thinking of buying some Presonus gear so your Prosonus forum issue interested me. I just now went to their forum and registered, got the confirmation, and logged on in about 5 minutes. I would say check the email address you type in and that you aren't getting errors for leaving any required fields empty.

Hope you resolve your recording issue and post the solution.

weird, I haven't spent much time on the site this past week so didn't notice the problems, I know the FAQ section of the website is messed up, that won't work but yea, there are a couple knobs there but also there's some really nice guys too.

Doc, I like the gear I've got, the firestudio and the faderport, hell, even the weird problem with the headphone outs with the firestudio Presonus is having someone call me to fix it (as opposed to going back down to the store) I've read both good and bad reports about their c/s but there are a lot of tech's on the forums so generally the good questions get answered. Right now there seems to be a lot of animosity about the leopard drivers for the firestudio. I can understand the frustration but I'm happy using tiger until all the bugs are worked out.

I'll copy and paste it for you here

follow the FAQ first:

1. Launch Cubase LE
2. Go to Devices > Device Setup... > VST Multitrack (menu selection)
3. Set the "ASIO Driver" to 'PreSonus FIREPOD'
4. Click the "OK" button
5. Go to Devices > VST Inputs
6. Activate INS 1-8 for your FirePod

then create your tracks

I use one of these for my garageband recording.

It's got cheap small knobs all over it, but since it doesn't get a ton of wear and tear, I think it will work out fine.

Do you have a Spam filter it might be chewing up the email thinking it is Spam? They send back using the address: [email protected] That is also the address to send to if having trouble getting on.

I have one as well (UX2).
It's OK. I've used it with Garage Band and I seem to have the same issue- low gain.
And if you crank it, it distorts. Anyone else use it or can tip me off on this??

On the surface, it seems to be pretty cool. I think I may look elseware after the new year.

(BTW- off topic here, I may be selling a older MOTU2408 with PCI card and a MAC G4 dual 500- look in the classifides in a few weeks)

I have run into the same problem. It seems to work for a guitar great, but the bass stuff is just to quiet. To fix this I have been running the bass through my LittleMark's DI and problem solved.

I have a pro Tools "Jedi" coming over Tuesday. (Bartering electrical work for his sister)

Hes going to help get up and going on the firepod, and show me a better way to record on my MBox Pro Tools
