In its day, that was in the neighborhood of the original MSRP, IIRC: They've been in production for many years.

I played one of these recently and it was great.

Choice of attachment points for the strap (so slightly different positions than strap-button-in center). I presume Gary preferred one. The other balanced it so that if you set the instrument down it sat on both rather than being offset. I always preferred the "top" one myself.

I'm 3 hours from there and feel like I should buy this, hmm... Never played one though, really only played fretless one time for a few minutes in a store.
