I was at one of the local music shops today talking to the sales guy about strings they had. He recommended the rotosound swing set, but I wasn't so sure on switching from my beloved Daddarios. I asked how it'd sound on a fretless and he pointed me to the fretless Squier VM in the back that was strung with them. I plug it in and I'm not sure if it was the amp, the bass or maybe it was JUST the strings, but this thing just sang. I think I'm love.

You can't go wrong with Rotosounds my friend. And those VMs are pretty awesome for the price range. Grab one and mod it. You won't be sorry.
I was considering picking one up without playing it a year or so ago, but I just might do it now.
I used to have a Squier VM fretless. I really liked it, but in the end the fretless thing just wasn't working for me so I swapped it for the fretted VM jazz instead.
I've got Ric, Warwick, EBMM and Fender basses as well. While it doesn't quite match them, it certainly isn't as far off as the price would suggest. The VM basses are great value for money.
