Gassing for a Rockbass fretless...

I quite fancy a cheapo fretless, and was looking at the Rockbass Streamer 5 string fretless, most likely the 1 pickup version.

Does anyone have any experience of these? I did a search, but nothing useful from the last two years returned.

Obviously, I could buy a Corvette Standard fretless 5, but that'll cost 3 times as much...

Well I don't really have a lot of experience with these fretless ones, since I just got my Rockbass Streamer fretless today! I traded it for a Rockbass Corvette 5-stringer, which I owned for a year or so.

The one I got is a 4-stringer, and has two pick-ups, so it's not exactly what your looking for, but I'd dare to say that the differences aren't enormous, at least quality-wise. Seems to be quite solidly built. Everything is where it's supposed to be and apparently also stays there. :)

I've played it for a few hours today, and I'm liking it. A lot. Compared to my Thumb, the neck is a lot slimmer, so it's pretty easy to play even if you have small hands.

Tonally I haven't really began to explore it's possibilities, but then again, it only has two volume controls and one tone control, so there's only so much you can do with it. But I like the sound so far. Haven't owned any fretless basses before, so I can't really make a comparison of the sound. The tone is quite dark and there's not that much going on in the highs. Then again, the bass came with flatwound strings, so I wouldn't know how it sounds with roundwounds.

A good bass, especially considering the price (about 300-320 euros).
