My best experiences in traveling with my bass have been with JetBlue, everyone very corteous and always helping with having my bass safe... one even asked me to play him a couple of licks... :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

... But in conclusion I had better experience with my gig bag and getting there early and if I had to check the bass, gate checking...

I think for my purposes of putting two basses in a double gigbag, your golf case should work....Now, I just need to find a place online to buy it.....Help!

It only cost about $125 plus another $10 or so in extra foam and adhesive. An old Levy double gigbag fits in it just fine.

I ended up buying the SKB 2SKB-4816W ATA Staff Golf Travel Case:

It fits TWO individual Levy's gigbags (one for my Parker 5, one for my Status Fretless Headless 6) back to back quite nicely with little wiggle room.

Actually, it fits a deflated blow-up doll as well, providing that "she" is sober and nestled at the top, on the foam portion on the interior of the case. ;)

That's what I should have done! First, I like the idea of taking two basses with me in one case. Second, my Bass-Safe came down the chute in two pieces when I arrived back in Houston yesterday. It seems that the ATA inspectors (or some curious baggage handlers) took it apart to look inside, and couldn't put it back together again! So they said screw it and through it on in two pieces!

Third, I love that you can fit the blow-up doll in there! ;)

Fortunately, my axe arrived unscathed.

I may buy one of those instead now.

Very cool. I bought my case from a local golf pro shop. As I recall, there are several online pro shops that would carry that case.
