Double Bass Gator Allegro 3/4 Double Bass Bag

My 3/4 DB Turtle Bag is starting to fall apart due to lots of loading in and out over the last 5 years and I'm wondering about the Gator Allegro Pro Bag.
If you have used or do use one please chime in.
It appears from the website pics that the bow holder may be removable. Can anyone attest to this?
Does this bag have a good chance of lasting several years with a 2-3 gig per week schedule?
Is the handle placement good?
Any thoughts or advice you may have would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve been using Bobelock bags for close to 20 years now. Probably 2000 gigs on them if not more. Still going strong. Sweetwater carries them, and they’re less expensive, too.

Gator makes excellent cases for many instruments. The double bass case, though, has two design issues that stick out for me. The first is the way the opening for the endpin would make it really awkward to get the case on and off; every bass bag I've owned over 50 years zips from both sides with the endpin in the middle. The second is the built-in wheels, which are guaranteed to damage the area of the bass where the ribs join the back. Check out some of the online dealers that specialize in double bass. You can PM me for recommendations as I don't want to fall afoul of TB rules on promotion.

The Gator looks ok as long as you're not tempted to use the built-in wheels.

I have this gator bag and it's not a good design, imo. The build quality is solid but the handles are in the all the wrong places and you can only walk with it comfortably with the bridge facing straight out and I'm a walk with the bridge in so I can see it guy....I took it to a gig and the commute in and out was stressful and uncomfortable. I thought i was going to bang the bass against every doorway and corner. The wheels are also too small and I don't see them not getting jammed regularly.

I bought a bobelock bag instead and it reminds me of my old mooradian bag in terms of quality and location of the handles.

Any idea if the Bobelock bag will fit an old American Standard upright? My bag is in decline.
