Gator Icon soft case question

Does anyone here have a Gator Icon? I'm curious how it is, especially compared to the ProGo, which I've had for years. The ProGo, with with the interior cushion removed, fits my Gibson Thunderbird. And the big exterior pocket has a lot of room for cables, strap, recorder, tools, etc.

I'm mostly asking because although my ProGo has served me very well for years, one of the straps needs replacement (carabiner clip broke off and one end is sewed in) but Gator no longer sells replacement straps. So I was thinking getting another ProGo and keeping the current one as backup, or checking out an Icon.

I ended up getting an Icon. Looks like the current ProGo and Icon straps are the same. Gator changed it on the ProGo from the carabiners because people complained they were uncomfortable. So they both now seem to have the same hideaway system.

I like the Icon a lot, but I prefer the pockets in the ProGo. The ProGo has some smaller pockets inside the large main pocket. The Icon just has a big zippered mesh pocket. Not as good for storing small tools and such. No I have to get some smaller pouches to keep stuff organized. But the bottom part is wider on the Icon so my Thunderbird fits better.

BUMP

Thought I'd chime in here. I've been running a Gator Icon for a little over 2 years now, so I'll give a report.

Plus side:
- STUPID amount of storage pockets. Everyone in the band is asking for, and receiving the benefits of all I carry for cables, batteries, tools, etc.
- Excellent padding

Minus:
- Pocket behind headstock has a zipper that's tearing away at the seams. At 2 years, it's probably seen at least 120 gigs. Thought my $270 might last longer, but it is still just a bag after all. Checked the Gator website. Lots of virtue signaling about sustainability and recycling in the near future, nothing regarding repair-ability.
- I've found my other instruments in hard cases are much faster to load/unload with a couple clasps on a flip lid vs fumbling for zippers. I'm kind of over the whole floppy bag thing in general at this point.

YMMV.

Currently seeking a hard shell option with a similar amount of storage, though I might as well be seeking a unicorn. LOL!

Contact Gator. They might replace the bag for you. Half of one of the backpack straps was coming undone on my Icon. I contacted them and they sent me a new one. Great customer service.
