GC backordered GK mb200 woes

I have a GK mb200 on backorder with Guitar Center. As of 6/23/11 the GC site showed the amp 'available' 6/24/11.

After ordering every time I visit the site the 'availability date' keeps getting pushed back.

As of today (7/1/11) they are showing 7/8/11 as the available date.

Pretty sure I won't get it in time for my 7/15/11 gig considering I used normal ground ship option.

Does anyone have any idea about the relationship between Gallien Krueger and Guitar Center, or any anecdotes about GCs backorder and 'availability' lag time in shipping?

Obviously I'm dying to get it :crying: and there is nowhere in town that has (a new) one in stock.

Only info I can provide is my own experience with a BBE preamp. Ordered in October '10 and got an immediate backorder notification (which I expected since I knew they were backordered). However, as the weeks went by, I kept checking the GC web site; each time I did, the projected availability date had been pushed out. Due date is now mid September. That would be eleven months. At this point, if they sent it to me, it'd be one big yawner. FWIW............

Just to finish off the story if anyone cares.

The ship date kept getting pushed back on a new MB200. But I did see a used one 'available' and so canceled my new order and ordered the used.

The day after I ordered 'used' they said it was on backorder too!:spit:

But it did arrive about a week and a half later.

I will say the GK MB200 was worth the wait. So light, so tight, so right.
