That's true around here as well. My pedalboard dwarfs most of the guitards' I've jammed with in this town,...and it's only a PT2 with 9 pedals on it. Most all of my transactions have come via TB Classies.
I have bought flipped and lost my ass on gear in the last two years, besides basses my pedal boar and rig are in a constant state of buying too much going to into panic mode and selling it all.
I have floated from 4 two 7 pedals. I now know what I want. But yes at times I just want to sell it all and start over.
This is my third time and I want to buy keepers. (I got 4 keepers that I am happy with, so here is hoping )

I'm in a current state of gear de-acquisition at the moment, but also in a state of gear acquisition at the same time.
I've been slowly moving down from a PT-Pro and a ton of effects on the side to just a PT-Mini. At the same time however, I am trying to find the right combination of pedals that will satisfy my needs on such a small board and using the funds that I am getting to knock some pedals off the GAS list.

I wanted to get rid of my amp, but then I realized that it's a good amp. Decent 250 watt solid-state heads are hard to come by. I also wanted to dump most of my pedals (except for my tuner, Super Chorus, Digitech Bass Multi Chorus, and my rocktron heart attack that is in pieces at the moment following a dissection.

Right now I think I am getting a bit of that. I'm planning on selling 2 of the 5 pedals I have right now. Which leaves me with just my modded Rat, a volume pedal, a tuner, and my noise suppressor (because my pickups are microphonic, once I get a new bass I'll probably sell that too).
