I've been using a Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 running thru an Ampeg Portabass 2x12 cabinet rated at 500 watts. My band situations are usually variety/Motown/oldies/country and the people I play for like the warmth of the Ampeg cabinet. I've never had to run my Shuttle volume above 4 in any situation and have plenty of volume, with or without a PA. Mostly I use a Music Man Stingray 5 bass, a Yamaha BBeast 5 bass or Carvin XB-75 bass.
