I'd just like to point out that if a REAL jaguar met REAL Geddy Lee...I bet the jaguar would just eat him.

Because we're talking about basses....

Geddy Lee! Those basses are sweet if you can get a cheap one!

I received my Geddy as a gift after playing a couple in the local L&M. I have since not played any other Geddy that felt as good and I try every one I see. Actually I haven't played a Jag, MIA '75 J, Marcus Miller, or even a 1 of 100 CS '70 Limited Edition that felt as good as the GL I lucked into. Simply an excellent specimen I couldn't even consider giving up.

This is good to hear. I actually started a Word document listing all the complaints, fixes, and mods people said they had to do with their Jaguars. I usually like to play a bass stock until something really bugs me badly, then fix it. I hope I'm as happy with my stock Jag as you are.

Good to hear!
It's strange... there's something about Jaguars and Geddys that make people want to modify them as soon as they purchase one... Every Jaguar thread I've ever read has someone explaining how to replace all the pots & caps, and re-wire the switches. I don't think people realize what a great sounding stock bass it is!

THIS tone... my band demands! I won't be playing another bass for a very, very long time.

The jag preamp is totally true bypassed.
No need to rip it out. Just switch it off.

I like the true bypass, I'm curious which OBP you people might suggest in pursuit of "that vintage growl"? OR...tone pot or active pre controls?
I realize that this probably HAS been discussed, many of the old posts are old enough to prompt me to ask again, please forgive me...

"what do you mean, you people?
What do YOU mean, YOU people?"
