Geddy's Technique

I LOVE geddy's tone as well as thousands of other people, but I'm not going to be able to come to close to replicate it if I don't know his style/technique. Whats his finger style like? I know he plays aggressively. I've heard he kind of " hits " the strings and I've also heard he just yanks on them... anyone have any better descriptions?

i wathched R-30 and the Rush in Rio DVD. He seems to use an up and down plucking motion with 1 and at times 2 fingers. check out working man at the end of the R-30 show. A perfect example of what I'm talking about. He tears it up like Geddy can only do.

Just in case, take notice that Geddy first used such technique on 1993's "Counterparts". "Animate" was the first song in which he applied it. So, that's part of his toolbox but it doesn't have so much to do with his signature tone, taking into account that he didn't use that technique back in the "Exit... Stage Left" days, for example.
