Correct, sir.
It is also illegal to use avatar images that are not in the public domain but no one will enforce that anytime soon.
I've gone one better - Google Sketchup. I have a 3D mock up of my new and improved pedal board on the drawing board so I can be sure it all fits before I build it.

But guitar geek do enforce use of their images
hence the current situation where TB won't allow you to use themI started a while ago trying to make a some properly scaled (1 pixel = 1 millimetre) images of pedals as an alternative to using guitargeek stuff here. Uni work kind of got in the way, but if theres enough interest I could start putting a few together again..

Now that i've got most of the basic elements saved (i.e. the knobs, jacks, 3DPT switches, LED etc), most pedals shouldn't take longer than 5-10 minutes tops. Its finding the correct sizes for the pedals which is a bit of a pain...

I also made some like that, but the images are actually the size of the pedals in real life!

Edit: just realised Photobucket have scaled down some of the images. They're accurate scale-wise, but some aren't the right size they are meant to be.
Are you sure it's not just the thumbnail preview that's throwing you off? I checked them out and they seem to be fine.

Acknowledgement of origin doesn't relieve one from copyright infringement. Besides, guiatrgeek clearly denies permission for reuse in their FAQ:
Q: I've seen people posting their own crude versions GuitarGeek-style setups on the internet using your images. Can I do the same?
GuitarGeek: Only if you like breaking copyright laws.

My rig is 'geeked' on my MySpace page, in the "Basses, Toys, Etc." pictures folder.

All a copyright does is give the creator the right to exclude others from reproducing or distributing their original creation. It does not automatically forbid people from doing so. Copyrights are not self-enforcing; i.e. the copyright holder has to actually enforce the copyright for it to have any effect. Thus, unless GuitarGeek actually sends someone here a C&D or posts one on these forums, the copyright has no actual effect. On top of that, according to our fearless moderators, GuitarGeek have indicated they are OK with the use of the images on TB as long as its attributed to GuitarGeek.
Quoting from the FAQ of this forum:

These images are the copyright of the designer. However, Adam has indicated that as long as credit is given when using his original work images, he is ok with their usage here.
Any pedalboard/signal chain layout you make with these images must state the credit in the graphic, and you cannot label the resulting image 'An XYZ production' or similar.
