Geezer P/J Wired as only a P?

I have a set of Geezers in my (cheap import) Fender PJ, and I realize that I am just not a PJ guy. Ive had several now and never have been happy with the sound. I was wondering if I could remove the J pickup and wire it to only run the P, or would I have to get the P set? Just turning down the J in any of the basses Ive had doesnt quite sound the same as only a P IMO (not exactly sure why either)

Maybe a dumb question, but, I figured I would ask!

The P pickup in the P/J set is the exact same pickup, I did this, and as many has testified it's an amazing sounding P pickup.

All you need to do is leave out on the volume pots when wiring it.

...leave out one of the volume pots...
