I'm modding this undersized J vintage blonde bass. I have routed the neck P pickup for a reversed/Lee Sklar set up. I'm converting from a Fender Blacktop J with 2 P pickups, swapping all parts to this body.
Well the bridge pickup is routed for a neck sized J and with the body being a "dinky" J, I'll have to make a custom pickguard, too.
SO my question is; would an EMG Geezer P work with a "stock" bridge pickup?
AND I want to do a '62 Jazz concentric vol/tone set up, with series/parallel switch.
Basically, I want the P pickup to be quiet and if the Geezer's a no go, then I would get something humbucking - probably both.
Budget is a big factor, being retired on a fixed income.
I'm working on the pickguard template at the moment. There's a screw hole where the green tapes are. The seller had no information about the body, but I took the gamble on it and am very pleased with the finish. So I'm willing to adjust things to fit.
Thanks
