Sorry I aged out of computers when an entire big building was dedicated to he care and feeding of 52 column punch card readers and included a couple dozen full time coders making new and replacement cards on keypunch machines. I was in charge of our deck and the weekly printout. It was all in code and described what we had on hand and what we were supposed to have on hand. Oh and it was in code because every item was limited to 52 slots to not only track send and receive dates, it also had the FSN, bin number or other location identifier, and a description.
I worked with computers after that but it was pretty much front end stuff. Mostly CNC programing on a Data General Eclipse main frame. It only took up about half the space as the card readers did and had a ton more power.
I'd be afraid to guess how much more powerful my Iphone is than that mainframe but it's easy 50 (or more) times more powerful.
Oh and on a different note. I think we are not seeing this for what it truly is.
Cow gets born, owner snaps a pic and somehow Gene sees it. He sets up some press coverage, including a quick comment, then turns the owner over to the press and the story hits the dub dub dub.
If Gene is lucky and it gets a couple billion hits and generates a ton of cash, he can then sue for his cut of the loot based on his fame as a celebrity for making it so successful.
Always be closing baby. Always be closing.
