Genuine Gibson/Epiphone or Fake?

Need some help here. Does anyone know if they ever used sewing machine bobbins- it is marked Gibson after all.
How about the headstock shape and decal?
Did they really sell a model 77?
Somebody lightly sanded it. Hope no patina was lost as well. I know not to ever remove authentic corrosion or road filth.
Pull no punches, I can take it. It did seem suspiciously cheap at the flea market- $5usd. And the decal looks fake.
And I can put the machine heads on my cigar box if it is a fake after all. And that's not sour grapes.
But it is broken off just like a Gibson! OMG, can they relic that too?

Thanks for the comments. I was fixin' to work on it yesterday and accidentally left it out in the rain. Buts that's ok. It'll probably just increase the patina and up that fine Gibson value. If I have a daughter I'm naming her Patina.

When you post that on the FB Marketplace make sure you tell 'em "No low-ballers" and that you know what you've got. That weeds out the trolls.

I’ve often thought the relic Gibsons should have the headstock broken off and glued back on at the factory so they’d be like a real, vintage Gibby. :roflmao: :eyebrow:
at the very least they should circumnavigate the joint/transition with a chisel and fill the trail to fake a repaired break. This seems like a fun challenge for the really experienced repair guys in LC.

That's right. Like the experienced old Fender Custom Shop relic gal or guy, with the cigar, ice pick, sandpaper and Dremel MotoTool. And brand new beautiful instrument body. Shiny. Takes a few relic jobs before complete success I'd imagine. First effort probably only produced sawdust. Easy to get carried away:
