Genz Benz 6.2 210T

Hi All,
I have a Gibson EB3 and after 30 years I am back in a band. Currently using an old Fender Bantam Amp. I want to get something that is lightweight and easy to carry and provide a quality sound. I found the Genz Benz but honestly dont know anything about the brand. Does anyone have any other suggestions if you think I have better alternatives. Please help the old guy out. SMILE>

Check out TC Electronic stuff too. Very cool.

G.K. makes some lightwieght amps that sound pretty good. I have been using a GK MB115 for a year now so far it has been really reliable. I play once a week in a small church with a 6 piece band. It sounds even better when I use my Zoom B3 pedal in front.
I played an old Bantam bass amp over the weekind. Not much headroom but the overdriven bass tones were nice. Is that typical?

Firstly, GB is a really good company with excellent customer service. Two of their Engineers are regular posters here.

Secondly, you call yourself an old guy. If you can't admit your age you're too young to be an old guy. :D

Thirdly, A single 2x10 will not make a good gigging system for most of us. A pair, however, are very versatile.

Fourthly, Get your tech to check your EB3 for a "tone coil". Back in the day, my EB2 had such a coil and it sucked all the life out of the bass. Disconnecting, or putting a switch to turn it off, breathes new life into a Gibson bass. Such a switch could be combined as a pull on one of the volume pots.
